Exclusive Regional Premiere of the film "Little Ashes"

July 6

Cincinnati Opera invites you to the Greater Cincinnati premiere of Paul Morrison’s film Little Ashes as part of the company’s educational programming in support of their “Opera Goes to Spain” season. The showing will take place in collaboration with the Contemporary Arts Center on Monday, July 6, at 7:00 p.m., leading up to our regional premiere of Ainadamar, a new opera that explores the life and death of Spanish poet Federico García Lorca.

In the midst of the repression and political unrest of pre-Spanish Civil War, eccentric artist Salvador Dalí and renowned poet and revolutionary Federico García Lorca find their artistic and sexual freedom in each other. The two form a bond challenged by their fierce ambitions, the struggle between a love for Spain and a love for each other.

This 112-minute feature film stars Javier Beltrán as Federico García Lorca, Robert Pattinson (of Twilight fame) as Salvador Dalí, and Matthew McNulty as Luis Buñuel. It was written by Philippa Goslett and directed by Paul Morrison. Little Ashes is made available to Cincinnati Opera by Regent Releasing.
