What is your favorite opera and why?
I love Mozart's Don Giovanni for dramatic brilliance. The first orchestra tunes symbolize the death. I also love Rossini's La Cenerentola and Il Barbiere di Sivilglia because I love Rossinian "vocalita" and drama.

What is a favorite role you have sung and why?
The title role in Verdi's Falstaff. The complexity of the role needs a great actor and a great singer, so it is an artist's goal.

What is your dream role?
The title role in Rossini's Guillaume Tell

Do you have professional recordings or DVDs?
Many recordings including Il Barbiere di Siviglia (CD and DVD) with Florez for Decca, Rossini's La Gazzetta and Le Comte Ory and Best-Loved Neapolitan songs for Bongiovvani label.

I would like to be a doctor.

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you during your career?
During the production of Donizetti's Le Convenienze e Inconvenienze Teatrali at the Teatro San Carlo in Napoli, I performed the rold of Mamma Agata but I did not like the final of my aria. The night I dreamed I was singing the "mad scene" of Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor and so I realized that I had to end Mamma Agata's aria with the final "Cadenza" of the mad scene from Lucia...and this new final made an outstanding success.
