A Note from General Director & CEO Patricia K. Beggs

I am brokenhearted to tell you that our dear board member and friend, Dr. Howard Feigelson, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 9. For those of you who knew him well, it will come as no surprise that despite feeling ill, he went to work at the hospital, and died there.

Howard and Mike began attending Cincinnati Opera performances in 1947, when they celebrated an anniversary with a performance of Aida at the Zoo. They became Director’s Circle members in the late 1990s, and their extraordinary support has helped lead the Company to our current level of excellence. In 2006, the Feigelsons joined the board and became our second husband & wife trustee team. Howard, who was 84, continued to practice medicine and engage in life to the fullest. He was witty, informed, an astute investor, devoted to his family and passionate about opera. He was also a great friend to Cincinnati Opera.

I have spoken with Mike (his bride of 62 years) and daughter Shelly Feigelson Igdaloff, and they requested that in lieu of flowers, please send donations to Cincinnati Opera. Please join with me in sending Mike and the entire Feigelson family our deepest sympathy and love.
